To become an ICP provider, you need to:
- Take the free online training on the ICP Industry & Energy Supply Protocols.
- Apply to the ICP Project Developer and/or Quality Assurance Assessor Networks (Industry & Energy Supply).
ICP Project Developer Network RequirementsQuality Assurance Assessors must have the technical expertise and experience
- Members must retain, either on staff or under contract, someone who:
- Is a licensed Professional Engineer under a nationally recognised scheme which is relevant to energy in industrial buildings (e.g. Chartered Mechanical Engineer); or
- Has an engineering or science degree, and a nationally or internationally recognised certification, which is relevant to energy in the industry (e.g. CMVP certification, certified energy auditor) – these qualifications will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
- That person must provide a Declaration of Honour stating that they have experience in developing industrial energy efficiency projects spanning the five steps of the ICP process (Baselining, Savings Calculations, Design, Construction & Verification, Operations, Maintenance, Monitoring and Measurement & Verification).
- That person must take the ICP Training.
- Participating entities must carry professional indemnity insurance (or equivalent according to national circumstances) that meets the needs of the investor when developing a project and to obtain Investor Ready Energy Efficiency™ (IREE) project certification.
ICP Quality Assurance Network Requirements
ICP Quality Assurance Assessors must have the technical expertise and experience required to conduct thorough technical reviews of projects. Members must retain, either on staff or under contract, someone who:
- Is a licensed Professional Engineer under a nationally recognised scheme which is relevant to energy in industrial buildings (e.g. Chartered Mechanical Engineer); or
- Has an engineering or science degree, and a nationally or internationally recognised certification, which is relevant to energy in the industry (e.g. CMVP certification, certified energy auditor) – these qualifications will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
